Parallels 10 VM: Windows 8.1 Mac: El Capitan I can't mount SD card inserted in my Mac mini. When I insert SD card, alway Mac OS X mount it. When I select "Apple SDXC card" from external devices, always error. I did everything mentioned by Parallels man answered in these forums. I set "ask for when", but never asked. I was asked when Mavericks. If P11 solved this, I'll move to P11, so no work-around needed, just mention it. If not, work-around or bug fixed please.
Hi MasatoO, please try re-installing Parallels Tools and check how it goes. Refer to this KB article.
Thanks. but didn't solved. very unstable. only once, without "ask", my SDXC card is mounted on E drive, but funny enough it also can be seen on Finder, too. nexttime, ask pane poped-up and correctly mounted (and can be seen as Windows drive on Finder because of P setting) after that, never. selecting Apple SDXC card device results in error. BTW, I can connect Super Drive (USB).
H Hi, connect Apple Card Reader to the virtual machine: In virtual machine menu bar go to Devices > External Devices -> Apple Internal Memory Card Reader and check how it works.
Hi, Only when I insert SD (and always it is mounted on Mac Finder), I can see "Apple Built In SDXC Reader": and always I would get "Unable to connect Apple Built In SDXC Reader":
Hi, I have the same problem that the SDXC reader card will not connect to the Windows 7 partition. The strange this is that it sometimes connects to Windows and other times not. When it is not connected I can also see the SDXC card in MAC OS X EL Capitan. Parallells is configured to "connect it to the active virtual machine", and I have tried to delete the permanent assignment and then reinstall but this does not seem to help. The solution which is given via the "Help me solve the problem" message does not work for this problem. I hope someone from Parallels can figure out what is going wrong.
I'd suggest to download a trial of Parallels Desktop 11. There are several things made in order to support the ElCapitan. You can always revert back to version 10 if needed.
