I offer technical assistance to my church staff who are all using Macbook computers running Parallels 10/11 and Yosemite/El Capitan. No matter which version of Parallels or Mac OS, every time they have to update their individual Office 365 subscriptions, it triggers a need to reactivate Windows 7. I thought only hardware changes triggered that. It's annoying to constantly have to get their computers, find the key and reactivate Windows 7. I fear that this constant reactivation will eventually trigger a reaction from Microsoft to say that the key has been used too many times. Why is something that is as simple as updating software or for that matter, even loading software, triggering a reactivation? Thanks in advance as this will be happening many times as long as these 4 computers are updating Office 365.

The first article refers to Windows XP, I'm running Windows 7. I also am not able to start in Safe Mode as is required, clicking F8 does nothing when Parallels starts Windows 7. It might work in Bootcamp but I am not running it. I've done the 2nd many times, I would just like to know why it is required that I reactivate just from updating software and will there ever be a fix that will stop that from happening. Thanks!

Hi @Tamjoe, Open virtual machine configure > Hardware > Boot order > "Select boot device on startup". Use this option enabled and then try safe mode.

Will give that a try. Will this completely stop the need for reactivation of Windows in the future when I update Office? Thanks!
