I have Parallels for Mac Version 11. I have tried all the methods listed in the posts -- disable anti-virus/firewall, went to Control Panel and Add/Remove Programs and don't have Parallels Tools to uninstall. I have tried everything. I have Parallels for Mac Version 11 on my Mac Pro and no problems, but on my MacBook Pro laptop running El Capitan I can't get it to work -- never has. Please advise?

    Thank you,

    Brian

Do you ever even see the Parallels Tools installer run when you're in the VM? If not, when you're in the VM go to the Actions submenu of the Parallels Desktop menu and select Reinstall Parallels Tools.

When I have the VM open, at the top of the window I see a little yellow triangle that says "Install Parallels Tools" when I hover it. When I do, the following message comes up:

"Click Continue to connect the Parallels Tools installation CD to this virtual machine and start the installation."

when I click "Continue", nothing happens? Also under the Actions menu, I do have "Install Parallels Tools" and again the same message and nothing happens.

    Hi Arun,

That is what I have tried is the "Reinstall Parallels Tools" from the Actions menu, it prompts me for the CD, of which I've never had. I installed Parallels from the very beginning with a download only. So what options are there?

    Thanks,

    Brian

    Hi BrianS3,
    1.Start your virtual machine
2.In the Mac menu click on Actions (Virtual Machine in older versions) > Install Parallels Tools (or Reinstall / Update Parallels Tools, if applicable)
3.You are able to see "tap to install Parallels Tools"on the right bottom of the page. Please tap it and choose "Run Parallels Tools" and then check how it works. (It doesn't need a physical installation disc for Parallels Tools)

Hi Sylvester, I click continue and then just NOTHING happens AT ALL? Any suggestions on why I don't see the option you are talking about?

Hi Brian, From your screenshot, I can see that you are in the Windows 10 login page. You need to login to Windows before you could proceed further. Please follow the steps below:
    1. Login into Windows by clicking Sign in.
    2. Once you have logged in Go to Actions > Install Parallels Tools, you will get the same pop up as in screenshot, click Continue.
    3. You will get a pop up, 'tap to install Parallels Tools', click on the pop up and check how it goes.

I have tried it logged as well, and once I click on "continue" nothing pops up? So where is this program installed if I just want to go directly to it and install it?

....I have managed to get it installed. I had to follow some of the steps in the manual installation instructions that Arun sent me earlier in this thread. Thank you for your help everyone!

Hi, You will find the exact location here:
    1. Go to Actions > Configure > Hardware > CD/DVD > Source and assign it as 'prl-tools-windows.iso'
    2. Now start Windows 10 > Go to This PC (file explorer) > Under 'Devices with Removable storage' > DVD Drive: Parallels Tools (please refer to the screenshot in this link). Double Click on the option and the tools installation will launch.
