Hi We are trying to get our weighing scales software talking to our weighing scales. We are running Windows 7 on Parallels 9 on Mac OSX 10.6.8 The scales and the computer are connected via a Ethernet Cable. In the Mac Systems Pref/Network we have Manually configured IPv4 address with IP address 192.168.0.121. We can enter this IP address into the scales and then ping the PC from the scales and it says OK (so the Mac side of the computer recognizes the scales?). The problem is the scales software running on Windows 7 says either there is a communication error or the scales are off line. So i wonder if the problem is with how I'm configuring the Network side of Parallels? Should I be choosing Shared, Bridged or Host Only Network (and then what other options should i be considering?). And in Windows, how should i configure the connection in the Network and Sharing centre? (If I was just using a straight PC to connect to the scales, apparently I would Go to Change adapter Settings/LAN connection/Properites/(double click IPv4)/and input the ip address of the scales (ie 192.168.0.129) and they would just talk to each other). Any step by step instructions (assuming i have no knowledge!) would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks Dhruba - disabling the Windows firewall worked! How do enable firewall again and set them up so they won't block Parallels Desktop virtual machines from accessing the Mac or the Internet?
