I just goofed. I upgraded my mac from OSX 10.6.8 to El Capitan and now Parallels 6 won't run. Does anyone know if my Windows XP pvm will run if I upgrade to Parallels 10 or 11? Help!

Hello ArnoldP1, we would recommend you to purchase the full version of Parallels Desktop 11 for Mac to install on Mac OS X El Capitan. Parallels Desktop 11 does support Windows XP as a guest Operating system. Thanks!

Thank you for the reply. If I purchase Parallels 11 for Mac, will it be able to open and mount the Windows XP.pvm that I already have, which was created with Parallels 6?

Yes Arnold, please purchase and install Parallels Desktop 11 for Mac and then search .pvm file on your Mac to open your Windows XP virtual machine and check how it works. Thanks!

What? Your reply is worthless. Before I PURCHASE your product, I want to know if it will work. Please respond to my question in some way other than telling me to buy your product. If I buy it and it does not work, will my purchase price be refunded?

Hi Arnold, the virtual machine is available on the Mac, once you install Parallels Desktop 11 for Mac it will automatically detect the virtual machine and you can use it normally. So basically uninstalling and reinstalling Parallels Desktop will not affect your virtual machine.
You can also try the evaluation version of Parallels Desktop which is for 14 days, refer to this article.
If you have already purchased Parallels Desktop 11 for Mac and you are not satisfied, we do have a refund policy of 30 days from the date of purchase.
