I just downloaded the most recent Paralles update (update notification appeared yesterday, 2/25/16). I opened Windows and opened QuickBooks, then Parallels Tools Installation began and froze everything. I looked at Parallels support topics - first item on list of instructions is to cancel the Parallels Tools Wizard in Windows. But I cannot cancel it as the cursor freezes as soon as I click on anything in the Windows window.

I am at work and stuck. Please help! Thank you.

Hi Virginia, please follow the steps to fix the issue.
    Shut Down virtual machine.
    Open Virtual Machine configuration
Go to Hardware > Boot Order > and paste in Boot Flags box:

    Hello Paul,
I cannot shut down the virtual machine. I can only suspend it by quitting Windows in the Mac menu bar. I can't click on anything within the virutal machine window. If I do, the cursor stops working.

When I quit Windows and try to make the VM configuration change you suggested, I get a message: "To be able to change the settings on this page, resume the virtual machine and then shut it down."

Do you have any other suggestions?
    Thank you!

Hello Virginia, Please refer to this article to stop Windows from Mac OS X menu bar.
Once Windows is stopped you may perform the above mentioned steps and check how it goes.
