I have a Macmini 2010, with 8GB ram, the last version of PD10, and Win7 professional. I tried many times to upgrade Win7 to Win10 with always the same issue: At some point in the installation: Firstly, I get the message: "page_fault_in_nonpaged_area (pssnap.sys), then the system restarts by itself. Secondly, Windows restores the previous version, i.e. Win7. Finally, when Win7 restarts, I get the message that the installation failed during the second boot, with an error at the time of the Boot operation. Before applying the upgrade, I fully uninstalled the antivirus and updated all drivers. For the upgrade, I tried many times the Mediacreationtool, or the iso download, or a USB boot installed with the necessary software. All these methods had the same result, as indicated earlier. PD and the VM are allocated 4GB ram. I don't what to do; thanks for your help.
Hello CR, Please try to increase your Hard disk space and make sure you have at least 10 GB free space, then try to upgrade.
remove software that uses this badly designed driver (pssnap.sys). for reference http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...ultinnon/faf1580d-9c24-48da-951b-ad0173afce41
Following your advice, I fully uninstalled Free Macrium, which was the latest version, and then the upgrade to Win10 went smoothly. I really appreciate your rapid and efficient answers, especially after having dealt with this issue for a couple of months before thinking to post a thread! Many thanks, Claude
