I have installed the trial version of Parallels 11 on my Yosemite Mac 27" 2015 model. I have a retail copy of W10 pro that comes on a USB stick. For whatever reason, the Parallels installation wizard is not designed to read these distributions of W10. I proceeded to install without a source. When I try and change the boot order to look at the USB stick, I get a message that says that settings cannot be changed without shutting down the virtual machine. Quitting the program doesn't seem to do anything. I also get what appears to be a DOS screen that perpetually tries to load something and says there is not bootable device. How can I get out of the cycle I am in? And more importantly, how do I install W10 from a retail USB stick that doesn't have an image file on it. Thank you very much.
To help clarify, I get the specific message " Some of the settings on this page cannot be changed until the virtual machine is shut down." So when I go to "shut down" the virtual machine, nothing happens. I am allowed to "resume" and "suspend" but not to "shut down".
