Windows Start menu doesn't work after updating to OS X 10.11.3. Also can't click in Cortana or the Notifications button.
I reinstalled the Parallels Tools and have rebooted a few times, both Mac and Win10.

I already saw this article. This doesn't help because the Notification is not clickable. And I don't understand why going back to previous version of Windows will make a differences?

Tried the steps in the article. Didn't work. When I try to copy the contents of the folder into my main account folder Windows won't copy some of the files because they are open in the State Repository service.

By quickly stopping the StateRepository and TileData services I was able to paste the files into my main profile, but this did not fix anything. BY THE WAY - There were extra files in my main profile that were not in the test account.

Tried everything to no avail. This is not necessarily a Parallels problem. Lots of Windows 10 users reporting this problem. None of the recommended fixes seemed to work. What I did was backup all my data, restore a snapshot from before the problem appeared and then restored.

I have looked at this KB article http://kb.parallels.com/123375 and it points out that Microsoft is working on a fix for user profile corruption. I am not sure this will help anything as the only Windows 10 systems I have seen this on are VMs running in Parallels. We started seeing it after the latest Parallels upgrade, which leads me to think that Parallels is causing profile corruption (or more accurately, tile database corruption as the start menu seems to be the only thing affected). I have asked Microsoft about this issue specifically and no one on the Windows team can duplicate the issue. I do not believe this to be solely a Microsoft issue... what is Parallels doing to remedy this problem?

Thanks Derek - I was curious why Parallels had an article on this issue, when by all indications it is a Windows 10 issue. But it makes sense to me that Parallels may be causing this really nasty problem. Like I said it took me almost a day wasted trying all the fixes which didn't work. Finally the only resolution was to restore the machine from a snapshot and then restore all my recent data from a backup.
