I've returned to Parallels 11, not having used it (or any vm) since v5. I'm looking for a key setting in P11 that I can't find, that is, "Map Windows Control key to Command key". I have gone through most all of the P11 preferences for keyboard shortcuts and can't find this. Command c/x/v do work as expected in Windows, as though the control key were mapped. But every other keyboard shortcut inside a program, like Command-+ to zoom in or Command-K to open preferences (in Adobe CC) does not work. I have to remember to use the Control key. Where do I find this setting? Please tell me it's still there. thanks AM
Thank you. I followed your instructions, but they did not work. First, I'm using Parallels 11, and KB was about Parallels 7,8, and 9. So some menu commands pictured did not exist. I had to hunt for equivalent areas of the interface. Once I found them, I saw that I had already done what you suggested. None of these included the option to Map Command key to Control key (or vice versa). So I'm still looking for help. Again, this was a distinct option/setting/checkbox in earlier versions of Parallels, in addition to fiddling with Function keys.
I did some searching on Google and found an old step-by-step on someone's blog. Apparently it's no longer a dedicated checkbox, but you can add your own remapping of Command to Control to your VM in Preferences > VM [name] > Windows Profile > [add new key map]. Here's what mine looks like (screenshot below), and now when I use Command-+ in an Adobe program, the screen zooms in as I expect. -- Does anyone see a problem with this additional key remap? Am I inadvertently breaking something else? Thanks.
