Hello, I am trying out the parallels on Mac, and running into issues and not sure if this is a setting When I run it in full screen the screen is 1920x1280 When I change it to a window the screen changes to 1920x680 Can't it just stay @ 1920 x 1280? Also when I switch back to full screen, the screen changes to 1920 x xxxx, it will not go back to the 1920 x 1280 So everytime i switch, I need to change the resolution, which is really annoying. IS there a way to fix this? I tried all kinds of settings and nothing seems to work. Thank you
I had tried that already and works for full screen, but if I change it to a window mode, then the resolution is changing
Hi, the described behaviour is expected and it's by design. You can disable dynamic resolution by disabling corresponding service: 1. In windows click Start > in search box enter "services.msc" (without quotes) and open Services applet. 2. Locate Parallels Tools service > right click it > Properties > Stop. Set Startup type to 'Disabled'. That's it. Please note that these procedure should be done after every Parallels Desktop update (Parallels Tools reinstallation).
It seems to work now, guess I needed to do the reboot , so it get's saved? Thank you for the information. you guys are really helpful. Def. going to buy the license About the services.. it that the thing that comes up everytime, when I go from Windowed to Fullscreen, it installs/updates something with Parallels ? since I always need to reboot then.
icon will stays there after reboot =) I am sorry, not getting the second question. Can you describe it in more details, take screenshots?
oops, I've confused forum threads. This service is installed with Parallels Tools (a package of driver for Mac-VM integration). Parallels Tools is automatically reisntalled after each Parallels Desktop update or you can reinsntall it manually (in Mac menu bar: Virtual Machine > Reinstall Parallels Tools). Dynamic resolution tool is catching resizing of VM window. If the window is resized it changes Windows resolution.
