I am running Parallels 11 on Mac with a Windows XP VM. Command (+ C,X,V etc) works fine in Windows XP.
When I connect from inside Windows XP to a Remote Desktop. Command modifier no longer works, I have to press Ctrl.

Any suggestions? This worked fine in Parallels 9, it stopped when I upgraded to El Capitan / Parallels 11.

    Hello tropics,
Command (+C,X,V) will work on your Windows XP virtual machine because it is running on your Mac with Parallels Desktop. This functionality will be lost once you login to the Windows OS through remote application . So Ctrl key is the modifier or conjunction key for real Windows PC and CMD key is only for Mac computers.

this all worked fine in parallels 9, i was able to use cmd on XP and also when i connected from XP to a remote desktop.
i think i found the solution from other threads, mapping a shortcut from apple command to shift in the VM preferences seems to have fixed the issue.

    Hi tropics,
Please go to the Parallels Desktop menu > Preferences > Shortcuts tab > System Shortcuts > set 'Send System Shortcuts' option to 'Always'.
Restart Virtual Machine, use Ctrl (+C,X,V) keys and let us know how it works.

Hi, shut down your windows virtual machine and click on Parallels Desktop icon from the Mac menu bar and choose Preferences and go to Shortcuts and select Application shortcuts and choose "Restore Defaults" and check how it works. Thanks!
