Parallels installed but I receive a window with EFI Shell version 2.31... when trying to install Windows 10 from usb key. A previous post response said to untick the efi boot option in hardware/boot order but I am unable to untick it.

To resolve this issue, please follow the steps given below:

    - Check your virtual machine is a 32 bit or 64 bit as per http://windows.microsoft.com/en-IN/windows7/find-out-32-or-64-bit
    - Please run the 32 bit tool http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=616935 if your virtual machine runs 32 bit or run the 64 bit tool http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=616936 if your virtual machine runs 64 bit
    - On the two options, select the second one [Upgrade a different computer] and click next.
    - On the two options, select the second one [ISO file] and click next.
    - Save the file on your desktop.
    - Connect the ISO file to the virtual machine as per http://kb.parallels.com/8638
    - Open File explorer and go to 'This PC' and then run Windows 10 from the mounted file.
    - Proceed on with the installation and check if the issue persists.

I too am having this same problem with the EFI Shell 2.31 window as described above.

I have a brand new Windows 10 USB. It is 64 bit as far as I can tell.

I have paid for, registered and installed Parallels Pro.

I am trying to install Windows 10 into my Mac Pro and run it with parallels. I don't want to run Windows 10 on a PC.

Why is this happening and what can be done about it?

I'm having the same problem. I removed the virtual machine and reinstalled windows 10. However, still got failed EFI hard drive wait 30 then 60 seconds.
followed by EFI Shell 2.31. Typing exit did not solve the problem. I install from windows 10 home usb drive full version from Microsoft.

Hello, It seems that you're on outdated build of Parallels Desktop 11, please update Parallels Desktop to the latest build 11.1.1 (32312). You can update to the latest build as suggested in this article. Latest version always available here: http://www.parallels.com/directdownload/pd11/ Please note that Parallels Tools also needs to be updated (Actions > Update Parallels Tools). Please see this article to know more about Parallels Desktop 11 for Mac updates summary.

The simplest way to do a fresh installation of Windows 10 on Parallels Desktop, download the ISO from http://bit.ly/1LT6FpT and install Windows 10 as per the steps given in the articlehttp://kb.parallels.com/4729
