Since 2 days I have several issues with my Parallels installation. I use Parallels Desktop 11 on OSX El Capitan with a Windows 10 installation. First I noticed that the clock wasn't syncing properly anymore, now my copy/paste isn't working. I followed the instructions in this KB post: http://kb.parallels.com/en/117984. But when I started looking I found out that there is no prl_cc.exe in the suggested folder or anywhere else on the disk. I guess this is the root of the problem, what can possible have happened? And how do I get things working again? Re-installing or updating Parallels perhaps? Thanks in advance! Michiel Rutjes
Hi Michiel, Yes, this is the cause of the problem. prl_cc.exe is necessary for such integration features as copy/paste, drag'n'drop, time sync, etc. If it's lost from your system (not sure what might be the exact cause, it could be malware, some windows system corruption, or registry failure, etc.), then Parallels Tools needs to be reinstalled at Mac Menu Bar click on Actions > Reinstall Parallels Tools. Once Tools reinstalled, please reboot Windows and check the issue - should be fixed.
Hey Sergei, Thanks so much for replying! In the meantime I was helped by your colleague through a remote session, she did exactly that Although I was glad she did it because somehow there were some related issues that she fixed as well. Still, thanks for the answer, hopefully this may help someone else with the same problem.
The problem for me is that Copy/paste does not work, the time does not synchronize and the secondary display does not work either. The prl_cc file does not exist on the computer, 1) I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Parallels desktop from scratch on the mac 2) I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Parallels Tools but the problem was still not solved and the prl_cc file still does not exist The problem has not been solved.
