I have been trying to get resolution of this issue through support, but clearly not getting to the right people. After upgrade to initial release of PD8 (from PD7) Mountain Lion dictation feature worked like a charm within the Windows 7 VM. But after upgrading to the latest release (8.0.18101) this feature no longer works in the VM (works fine in the MAC side). This is true regardless of mode (full screen, windowed, coherence) and regardless of what program on the windows side I try to use (notepad, word etc.). Nothing happens at all when I hit Fn Fn within windows (when in mac side it works as expected). It seems like the Fn Fn is not "getting" over to the mac side to cause the dictation feature to kick in. Again, this appeared to work fine with the prior PD8 build, and is NOT working (at least on my machine), with PD8 8.0.18101. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling both PD8 and Parallels tools. Would appreciate a response from Parallels.
Dictation not working Same problem here. I upgraded to Parallels Desktop 8 and Mountain Lion dictation does not work.
Thank you for a bug. The problem was found and fixed, please wait for nearest update. As temporary solution you can reassign dictation shortcut from "Fn-Fn" to other ("Ctrl-Alt-D", for ex.) and this will be work both in the OS X and VM. You can do it from System Preferences: Dictation & Speech/Shortcut/Customize
Sorry, but changing the dictation shortcut in system preferences doesn't work. We really need an actual fix to this "feature" that is not currently working. This is the main reason I upgraded to PD8
I have to take issue with Parallels. I have this morning received an email with a special offer of an upgrade to Parallels Desktop 8 with the following statement "Speak, don't type – Use Mountain Lion's Dictation tool across both Windows and Mac applications". As you can see from the previous posts, this option does not work and is therefore breaking the Trades Description Act.
Has anyone gotten os x dictation to work with parallels, it worked yesterday for about an hour and hasn't worked since. Why does parallels seem to have soo many issues that are this crucial.
