Working windows 8.1vm under Parallels 10 quits under Parallels 11

I have a working VM running 8.1 under Parallels 10. I did an upgrade to Parallels 11 on my Mac and now this VM (not a different one).
The VM says "Trying to boot from Primary Master IDE drive....". I changed from SATA to IDE per another article as an attempt.
The message it "The virtual machine <vm-name> was restarted. The virtual machine processor was reset by the operating system."

This cycle just repeats.
Of interest...the VM has Checkpoint disk encryption....again it worked until Parallels 10.
Also noteworthy...I have a copy of this VM on two different Macs and it does the same on both.

 

Ok I had same issue, just recreate the VM and add the HDD's to it.

 

Recreating the VM and adding the HDD didn't work for me. Exact same issue.
