Dear Sirs, I have a 2/3 years old macbook air(system details below), which can only hold maximum ram 4 GB, where as requirement (below) states 8GB is recommended. Can some one tell me if 4gb RAM will be enough or will parallel desktop 11 run slow? MY MACBOOK DETAILS: MacBook Air (13-inch, Mid 2011), Processor :1.8 GHz Intel Core i7, Memory: 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 Hardware requirements for Parallel Desktop11 from Parallel website: A Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, Core M or Xeon processor 4 GB of memory (8 GB recommended) 850 MB of disk space on the boot volume (Macintosh HD) for Parallels Desktop installation Additional disk space for virtual machines (varies on operating system installed) Internet connection
Your Mac will run Parallels Desktop 11, but it really depends on what programs you are going to run in your virtual machine. For example, if you want to run Ms Office, 4GB RAM total and ~1.5 GB dedicated to the virtual machine should be good enough (which, again, also depends on the type of Windows you are going to install). The general answer is yes, it will run on your Mac, but I'd advise to check your programs system requirements before installing them in a VM.
