Hey, I have a general question.

When I am running my Parallels desktop for Mac (latest build), I experience a bit of lag. I will give you a run down of the programs I am using:

    Trillian Pro (on Parallels)
Mozilla FireFox (on Parallels - should I run it on the Mac?)
    Dreamweaver (on Mac)
    Photoshop CS2 (on Parallels)

    Any ideas?

My MacBook Pro has 2GB 667 MHz DDR2 ram. The memory limit give to the Parallels is set to "Automatic".

You better set in on 1 gb memory.

Is that going to evenly split the two gigs for when I am using Parallels?

Also, do you think I should run FF on the Mac instead of Parallels?

When you use parallels it will split your 2 gb.

I go only on the mac side online (safer) so i should use ff on the mac side.

use MS IE 7 onWinXP when you have to otherwise surf the web with the mac

My VM runs slowly during automatic updates
and when AVG does a virus scan
    has about 750 mb RAM

Sierra has not got the google tool bar so I use FF
But Sierra is good for installing from the apple.com site

I use mail on the mac
also for POP and google mail and aol mail

    mozilla for usenet
and occiasionally for composer wysiwig html edit

when using my VM i always save my work on the mac side of shared folders

I clone my VM every weekend to a firewire external disk
where I keep all my photo images as jpg

I use the mac desktop for work in progress amd move it to the external disk when done

just now macintosh HD 111 GB 22 empty
VM C disk 32 MB 10 mb empty

and it all just keeps in trucking

MacBook Pro coming up to 14 months with Parallels
including beta testing and no insurmountable problems

I do disk clean up weekly on the VM
    i used to use Norton
    now http://onecare.live.com/
so it will all get slower for a while
