I upgraded from Parallels desktop 10 today to Parallels Desktop 11 (did the pro version in case that makes a difference).
My windows 7 VM will not boot. It gives me an error of "Cannot find operating system".
If I reinstall PD10, it works just fine. If I then try to upgrade to PD11, it still doesn't work.
Any ideas? I tried re-setting the HD image, but that didn't seem to help.

If the version file is ok then it work properly. I think there may be a case of file missing.

Hi, please generate the problem report using this KB and reply us back with the report ID number.
Please generate the report right after reproducing the issue with the VM window and error message

Similar issue but with a windows 10 VM, loads just fine on PD10 but not on PD11.
Generated a report ID number: 72386739
Screenshot of the failed load attempt

I had the same problem. Changing the disk location from SATA 1:0 to SCSI 0:0 fixed it for me. VM booted immediately after making that change, with no other changes.

I changed from Sata 1:0 to IDE 0:0 and it is now working for me as well.
