I am a newby to virtual machines. I have been creating simple .txt files on the desktop with with a different name in each snapshot. Then when I go back two snapshot, it STILL the most resent txt file name.
Am I misunderstanding how this works? Shouldn't the 2nd generation file name be gone when I go back to the first generation?
    Thanks for any comments.

    Hello LangeD,
I understand your query. Technically, you should be able to jump back to the first generation file name. Also your understanding of this Snapshot feature is right.
Please make sure that you are following these steps while attempting to revert back to a snapshot.
    1. Start Parallels Desktop.
    2. In the Parallels Virtual Machines list, select the virtual machine that you want to revert.
    3. Click Virtual Machine > Manage Snapshots.
    4. Select the snapshot to which you want to revert and click Go To.
Also please refer to this knowledge based article to know more about Snapshots.
