Since the last upgrade, I am experiencing Ubuntu VM restarting by itself. I am using the VM in the full screen mode, and the restart happens when I switch to other desktop, when the host Mac goes to sleep, or when I shuts the lid while the VM is running in the full screen mode. I had no such problems before. Am I the only one that's experiencing such problems? May the cause be some kind of corruption of the guest Ubuntu OS on the VM, not really Parallels?
Hi ChanY, please reinstall Parallels Tools as suggested at http://kb.parallels.com/113394 > restart the Virtual Machine and check if the issue still persisting, please check if the same issue persists on Window mode and let us know how it works.
I have the same problem: I am using parallels 9. Latest update. I have an Ubuntu 14.04 guest. I installed the parallels tools (successfully, but for the hope of improvement, I actually reinstalled it several times) Now, if I do suspend within the Ubuntu or if I do "pause" from parallels - no problem, I can wake it up again and it continues where I left it. However, if I do suspend from the parallels menu or if it does a suspend on its own, resume leads to a restart of the system.. - all active applications crashed. No problems with the Windows clients.
It also restarts itself, whenever I start or stop another VM. Wow, this is weird (e.g., it also automatically suspends, when I shutdown the Windows VM)!!!? (There is more than enough memory.)
