    Hello,

I want to migrate an XP machine to a virtual machine. The virtual machine is stored on a NAS.
Works perfectly, and much faster then expected.... the only issue that I have is... that I want that all personal files/docs/desktop files stay in the virtual machine.

It looks like parallels or doesn't migrate those files.... or moves them in shared mac folders in your mac home folder.
Biggest problem is that the virtual machine is stored on my NAS (OK, perfect), but the files are always forced in the mac home folders... and I don't have enough disk space (SSD) to do that.

Is there a method, so my whole xp system is migrated in to a virtual machine (with all its files?) in 1 block
Or.... is there a method to define the location of the users/ files before migration ... ?

I checked all docs and manuals... and can't find any solution

    Thank you

    Hi Peter5,
Please refer the knowledge based article provided below. If all the steps are observed carefully then it should help you in migrating your Virtual Machine.

Parallels support ... please post the solution if there is any... I lost hours and hours reading the documentation....

you paste a knowledge base article regarding FAILED migrations ... ?! I said it worked perfectly !! My only issue is the personal data... it's OR migrated to local storage (not on the virtual machine storage location.... or not migrated at all)

Problem is .. in the migration wizard , regarding personal data ... it's a YES / NO question.... If YES... your software migrates the personal data where it likes. If NO... it doesn't migrate anything.

There should be a way to OR migrate everything in 1 virtual machine (all the data).
OR specify the personal data folder (where the data is migrated to)
