I just installed the trial, but my VM will not stay on in the background. If I leave it running for a period of time, it shutsdown/suspends automatically, and I lose any background downloads I have running in the VM. My Mac is set not to go to sleep. I can't find a similar setting for Parallels. If the VM can't stay on, it's pretty much a deal breaker for me. Is there some setting somewhere that I'm missing?
Hi Odysseus1, Please go to Virtual Machine Configuration > Options > Applications > un check paus Windows when no applications are running , and let us know how it goes.
I figured it out. I didn't notice that the Windows activation got reset when I installed Parallels. Windows is shutting itself down every few hours since it no longer is activated. Unfortunately, I'm using a TechNet eval version of Windows, and the only way to reset the eval is to reinstall Windows. At which point, once I try to use Parallels again, I assume the activation will expire again. Thanks for the help
