I upgraded to the release version of Windows 10 today but when it's running, Parallels still displays it as Windows 8.1, both in the menu bar as with the following screenshot, and in several other places - http://take.ms/i2ZW6 - I am using the latest version of Parallels 10.
Hi @LarryMcJ Parallels Desktop saved the first name of your VM and didn't change it. It happens because you change the OS, not the "body" of VM, like when you purchase HP laptop and upgrade the OS inside it your laptop will still named HP. But you may change it by yourself using steps below: 1. Shut your VM down 2. Right click on your VM -> choose Configuration -> General -> and change VM name
Thanks, Marie. I actually figured that out later, but I appreciate your answer. Now, if I can only get my other (more important) question answered as to why Coherence is greyed out in Windows 10 and everything is not nearly as clear (sort of fuzzy looking) compared to Windows 8.1. Here's a screenshot that puts it into perspective...something just isn't right - http://take.ms/V9zar
Maria, Parallels Tools installed just fine, but when in Coherence mode Windows 10 interface is very small, see this screenshot - http://take.ms/Uw5HY
Not at all. When I had Windows 8.1 installed in Parallels it worked perfectly...all applications. And the Windows 8.1 Metro UI was the full size of my 27" iMac display...and it was crystal clear. All the problems began with Windows 10. I even installed the Windows 10 VM twice...same thing both times.
That's not the problem. The problem is with the Windows 8.1 VM Coherence mode filled the entire screen. With Windows 10 it's the small window in the screenshot I posted earlier. Also, this article refers to QuickBooks, which I don't have installed.
