Is the new (12'') Macbook robust enough to run Microsoft Office (Windows 8.1 Pro) via Parallels VM?

    Hi AviM,
Yes, the new Macbook should be good enough to run Windows 8.1 pro on your Parallels Desktop.
However you can still refer to this knowledge based article to know more about the compatibility of Parallels Desktop 10 with Mac systems : http://kb.parallels.com/114381
To know all the supported guest operating systems that you can run with Parallels Desktop 10, please refer to this knowledge based article: http://kb.parallels.com/122662

Isn't the M processor too week to run Parallels and windows, resulting in slowness of the computer?

    Hi AviM,
As long as your Mac has the following:
    • An Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, Core M or Xeon processor (Core Solo and Core Duo processors are no longer supported)
    • Minimum 2 GB of memory (4 GB of memory is recommended)
    • About 850 MB of disk space on the boot volume (Macintosh HD) for Parallels Desktop installation.
    • About 15 GB of disk space for each virtual machine.
    • SSD (Flash Storage) is recommended for greater performance.
It should work absolutely fine. In case if you experience any slow performance on your Mac or on the Windows side, you can always change some settings by following the steps here http://kb.parallels.com/112091 to enhance the performance.

Yes, I am running Windows 8.1 Pro via Parallels Desktop 10 for Mac on my (relatively) new Retina Macbook. I purchased the 1.3 GHz/512 GB SSD model the first day it became available and I've been running the VM without any issues to this point. What do you plan on doing in the VM?
