Hi, new user. So what does Free Up Disk Space mean? I run Parrallels 10/Windows 8.1 for programming apps like VisualBasic, NotePadd++, etc. Is that the same as Reclaim disk Space? Also, when I am done at the end of the day, is it better to suspend/resume Windows, or actually shut down and restart Windows. I know shutting down/restarting takes a bit longer, but I don't know the difference. Does actual shutting down free up any allocated RAM I may want when back in OSX?
Hi JohnL3, In Parallels Desktop 10 we introduce a Free Disk Space Wizard for managing your virtual machines data usage: just go to File -> Free Up Disk Space (when Parallels Desktop is in front): Please refer http://kb.parallels.com/122660 Suspend vs Shutdown: Suspending Windows conveniently freezes all running Windows programs and settings in their current state. Shutting down Windows in Parallels Desktop is just like shutting down Windows on a PC. All Windows programs close, giving you the opportunity to save your progress if necessary, and Windows stops running.
Yes, it is similar to Sleep option on your Mac or Windows for the Virtual Machine on Parallels Desktop.
