I have done a Bootcamp install of Windows 8.1 3 times now in the last 2 days. The reason I have done it 3 times is because every time I try to create a Parallels VM with it, Parallels screws up the partition and makes it impossible to boot from the Bootcamp partition any more, i.e. it doesn't show when holding down option key at startup.
See screen grab for the problem. what on earth is this all about?

Thanks, but that link was not relevant. The Bootcamp partition showed up on the initial 'New...' screen OK, but was being messed up (see post #1) when I tried to run it from within Parallels.
I resolved it by doing a repair from the Windows DVD. Still don't know why this was happening!
