Dear members, I'm trying to make PVM of WIN XP Pc with Parallels Transpoter Agent. Ang getting such error "Microsoft Windows XP cannot be transferred, because it cannot be configured to be bootable". i went through KB Parallales and found: With "Microsoft Windows XP cannot be transferred, because it cannot be configured to be bootable" error message please follow the KB #8358. But when im trying to read KB#8358 the page says You can't see internal articles. Is there any public solution of this problem? Regards, Alex
Hi AlexeyM, Please follow the steps given below and check how it works : Remove Parallels Transporter Agent and restart Windows : For Windows XP Open Add or Remove Programs by clicking Start > Control Panel Add or Remove Programs Select Parallels Transporter Agent and then click the Remove. For Windows Vista and later Open Programs and Features by clicking Start > Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features. Select Parallels Transporter Agent and then click Uninstall. Go to %temp% folder in Windows File Explorer: type %temp% in address line or go to Start in the search box type %temp% and hit Enter (return). Run Parallels Transporter Agent installer, wait while it is extracting packages and do not click 'Next'. Do not close it. Installer will create two temporary folders in %temp% folder with names like {FB8A118F-F808-4A65-4CAF-DcDbd47FBB29}, and in one of them you will find SnapAPISetup.msi. Launch SnapAPISetup.msi and install it. If it prompts to Repair it > choose repair. Continue Parallels Transporter Agent installation, Reboot the computer and Start Migration.
Thanx for your reply. Tried steps that you suggested, but now another error appears. "The source volumes can be transferred as data disl only, because neirher of them is an active volume or has an operating system installed." My windows XP installed on disk C:\, Disk D:\ free and empty.
