From what I've read, it seems I started out backwards and should have installed Windows in Bootcamp first and then Parallels. That way I could either boot up into Windows or Mac and still be able to use Windows programs in OS X.

It looks like I'm going to need to uninstall Windows then Parallels, then install Windows into Bootcamp, and then Parallels. I wasn't able to find much about this and was wondering if this is the best way to do it?

It was suggested that I just install it in Bootcamp and didn't need to uninstall the previous image but to me it seems somewhat wasteful and possibly could cause problems with software registrations etc. having 2 versions on the same computer. How would I go about deleting the old image (a link to the information would be fine).

MacBook Pro - mid 2014, Yosemite, Windows 8.1

    Thanks

    Hi David,

You can follow the steps suggested at http://kb.parallels.com/en/5029 to uninstall/delete Windows from Parallels Desktop. In order to install Windows on Bootcamp partition you need to use Bootcamp assistant application in Mac.
