I've upgrade to a new mac and before I wipe out my old one I would like to create a virtual machine from it. That would allow me to start up the old "stuff" if I had the need using Parallels. I have access to both Parallels 10 and Acronis True Image for mac. I am not wanting just a plain time machine backup, I already have that. Any tips on how to accomplish this?

    Hi Cameron1,
We would not be able to create a Virtual Machine with Mac OS X and it's files on Parallels Desktop for Mac. You can create a Virtual Machine using Mac OS X partition only.
We suggest you to backup all your files on Mac OS X using Acronis True Image backup and restore it after updating Mac OS X. For more information, please refer http://www.acronis.com/en-us/download/docs/atiformac/userguide/
