Purchased parallel 6 a while back and was unable to install . and when i contacted customer service i was told that version was outdated and needed to upgrade by purchasing version 9 . They took my money for nothing. CROOKS
Nobody is a crook. Personally I thin the cost of Parallels either new or upgrade is very reasonable. Version 6 is old now so you are better to upgrade to V10 Kevin
When you are sold a product that became obsolete even before you were able to install it and they tell you need to bye again a newer version, how do we call that? And not even talking about the quasi impossibility to get a coherent customer service for assistance ? It not about the money and what you consider reasonable may not be to others. It is about paying for something and expecting to get what i paid for .
Ok, so when exactly did you purchase V6? Was this direct from Parallels? It must have been a few years ago, because they typically release one version per year and have done for as log as I can remember. I.e. I go back as far as V3
Yes it ha Yes it has been a few years. They need to tell people in capital letters about their changes every year so that they know what 2 expect when purchasing and certainly when they sell you a version a few days before releasing a new version. At least i feel better to vent about this as it really made me very upset. I felt cheated and them royally ignoring my multiple attempts to look at the issue.
Version 6 was launched in September 2010, the official support ended 2 years later, each release has a 2 year support policy (meaning, you get updates for 2 years even if there's a new version, and that's why v9 and v10 have both been updated to support Yosemite). Apple also releases a new OS every year, this might or not break compatibility with apps.
