I just installed the Parallels 10 trial and it automatically added my Windows account as a local account. I tried converting the local account to my Microsoft account (within Windows 8.1) which is normally how to do it, but it goes through the process and keeps telling me "something went wrong". Windows 8.1 in Parallels won't work with Windows Mail and some other apps which require my Microsoft account. Surely I'm just missing something here...perhaps I just need to create a second user account and I'll be given the option to configure it as a Windows account? Thanks for any help.

It sounds like more windows 8.1 issues that a parallels problem. I have certainly switched between a local account and a Microsoft one. Although I don't use Windows Mail any longer It did work for me on Parallels 10 a while ago. As you say it might be quicker to create a new account.

Oddly, right after I posted this I tried it two more times...the second time the account conversion (within Windows 8.1) worked just fine.
