Looking for any help anyone may have. New MacBookPro with Retina 15". Loaded Parallels 10, then Windows 8.1 within it. Installed Quickbooks 2013 inside Windows. The program display is almost unusable - many icons are tiny or invisible, menu bars are not formatted properly. All functions seem to work, and the data entry screens are normal. I've tried changing the Retina display sizes, the Windows display formats, different Parallels display modes and have found no solution.

    Hi Eric,
Please follow the steps given below and check how it works :
    1. Uninstall Parallels Tools and re-install it again as suggested at : http://kb.parallels.com/4841
    2. Change the Resolution in VM Config ( http://kb.parallels.com/117287 ) -> Hardware -> Video -> Change Retina setting from 'Best for Retina' to Scaled.
    3. Restart the Virtual Machine once after making the changes.
You may also check the article : http://kb.parallels.com/119926 for more information.

Appreciate the help, Maheesh, but it still doesn't solve the problem. I followed the steps in the three articles and saw what appeared to be normal responses to each step.
(With one exception: Parallels 10 configuration menu->Hardware->Video does not have a control for "Best for Retina" but instead a control labelled "Enable Retina resolution." When deselected, there is no resolution selection tool as shown in step 2 of article 119926.)
Whether Parallels is selected to Retina resolution or not, QB still has varying sizes of icons and menu bars. See pic below. Menu bar and title bar are scrunched vertically; icon labels appear normal but icons are about 1/5 of their normal size. This also affects some screen widgets; checkboxes, for instance, are also tiny. Note how small everything is in relationship to the icon and label on the desktop beside it.

It appears to me that the problem might be in QB, an inability to work with the HiDPi resolution as noted in your article 119926. I also followed the link to article 118587, which also did not affect this varied scaling issue.
So ... still looking for any solution that people may have.
