I am currently running Parallels V5 (Windows XP) on my IMac v 10.6.8. I would like to upgrade to the IMac to Yosemite 10 and to Parallels 10 (Windows XP). First of all is this doable? Secondly can I do this WITHOUT having to uninstall and reinstall everything I am currently running on Parallels V5 with Windows XP?

    Hi Jeff,

Parallels Desktop 10 can be upgraded only from version 8 or 9. So in order to run Windows on your Mac with Yosemite, you need to install a full copy of Parallels Desktop 10.
    How to install: http://kb.parallels.com/en/122647

You can run the same Windows XP virtual machine in Parallels Desktop 10 as it is compatible and will not make any changes to Windows operating system. But we strongly recommend you to take a back up of Windows before making any changes.
