Installing Windows 7 stops part way

    Installing Window 7 on Parallels for mac v 10 the installation stops and msg comes up "Tying to boot from SATA drive ..." - "BOOTMGR is missing"
    Please help me complete this installation

    Hello Kelvin, looks like previous installation attempt was interrupted.
    Do I understand correctly you are trying to install a clean non bootcamp windows 7 virtual machine?
    In this case just remove virtual HDD from VM configuration and add it back again (i.e recreate).

    In other cases you have to change boot device priority in order to get VM booted from the installation DVD image or media.

    Hi Kelvin_McWha,
    Please follow the steps given at http://kb.parallels.com/4729 for installing Windows as Virtual Machine. In Step 4 : Un-check "Express installation" and follow the on-screen instructions to complete Windows installation on Parallels Desktop.
