I am having a boot problem this morning.
Currently I have Parrallels Build 9.0.24237 installed with Windows 8.1 on OSX.

Windows said it had updates and needed to reboot.
After rebooting I am getting a EUFI shell message.

    What i have tried:
    - Tried disabling UEFI boot no effect. Saying it cannot boot.
    - Checked if the harddisk is connected.

    Any ideas on this problem?

    Hi Hansieb,

Please follow the steps given to enable/disable EFI boot on Virtual Machine configuration :

    1. Start Parallels Desktop but do not start Virtual Machine.

    2. In Mac OS X menu bar go to View > Virtual machine's list > right-click on your virtual machine and choose Configure

    3. Go to Hardware tab > 'Boot order' and uncheck 'Use EFI Boot' and check 'Use EFI Boot' in 'Hard Disk'

    4. Close the configuration window and start Windows Virtual Machine and check how it works!

Thanks for your reaction. Like i said in my first post already tried checking and unchecking the EFI boot option. This has no effect. System still hangs on EFI shell.

Does it have some relation with the update Microsoft rolled back today? http://www.techweekeurope.co.uk/news/microsoft-update-150989
