I'm running into an issue with the latest Parallels 9 Enterprise edition running on Mavericks 10.4, I've followed the instructions at the start of installing a new virtual Windows 7 enterprise machine to make it shared for all users and place the pvm file in the /users/shared folder which it does and the vm installs fine. The problem is that when I login as any other user, either local or domain then every time I start Parallels I get the New Virtual machine window which I can then select an existing VM which works fine. The problem is that this is a student environment and I would like it that Parallels can auto select the pvm file in /users/shared when Parallels is started. I've tried adding the pvm file to startup as a login item as well as putting the Parallels application and pvm file in the startup folder both to no avail. Any suggestions, if the user has to select the pvm file it will cause a lot of confusion and support calls we can do without. thanks.
Hi NigelH, To resolve this issue, Please follow the instructions given at http://kb.parallels.com/9303 and check how it goes.
Yes I've tried that and I still get the prompt to select a new virtual machines every time a new user logs in, although the machine can be launched manually so it can't be a rights issue.
Hi NigelH, Please generate a Problem Report ID as suggested at http://kb.parallels.com/9058 and provide us the Problem Report ID.
Further to this I have tried on a freshly installed IMac and it is not able to locate the virtual machine, if I try to open it manually from the shared folder I get prompted to change the mac address. This is completely unusable in a student environment. I need them to use one windows image and make it accessible to all users.
