Hi all,
I recently upgraded from Paralells 8 to Paralells 9 and have been using the software since a couple of weeks without any major problems.
I had to create a new Windows 8 Virtual Machine from my Bootcamp partition this morning because the old one suddenly no longer supported the Retina resolution of my late 2013 Macbook Pro. Anyway, I deleted the old virtual machine and quickly create a new one. Unfortunately, Paralells must have changed something in my boot sector during the creation and when Windows 8.1 started, it showed me a blue screen and the error message "INACCESSIBLE BOOT DEVICE”. This happens all the time now if I run Win 8 virtually or boot it from the start.
I’ve already tried to recover it with a Win 8 Install disc and tried various other things but none were successful. This has happened to me two times now in the last 6 weeks and I upgraded to Paralells 9 when it happened the first time hoping that that was the reason. This is really extremely frustrating as I know have to create a back up of everything and then completely re-install Windows 8 through bootcamp.
Is there a way to prevent this? I will stop using Paralells for now since until I know why this happened or anyone has a solution.
Regards, Carsten
