I have an iMac running Windows 8.1 on Parallels 9. It has two physical drives... a ~240GB SSD drive and a 4TB Hybrid Hard Drive. The VM is hosted on the SSD and has about 65GB allocated to it (mostly just using the OS and apps to run on the SSD). The 4TB Hybrid drive is broken up into two 2TB partitions (required) formatted for use with Windows 8.1.
Most of my data is kept on those two 2TB partitions. I want to secure the data, but was unable to find whether it is safe to use the Encryption app that comes with Windows 8.1, namely BitLocker. Ideally, I would like to encrypt the host partition area as well, but at the very least, I would like to do it for the data drives. Is this possible to do in a safe manner? (i.e. without risking a fault that renders the data useless). I would appreciate any first-hand experience and/or insight into the matter, thanks!

    Hello BassemE,

Please take a backup of your Virtual Machine by following the steps as suggested at http://kb.parallels.com/8829

Then try to use Windows 8.1 Bitlocker Application for Encryption on Parallels Desktop 9 and it should work.
