Hello, I recently upgraded to parallels 9 and now when I play skyrim it will freeze the virtual machine along with my computer. I also noticed that the game will lag extremely when I can get it to run on low settings, which has never happened when I first purchased and parallels and tried it out with Parallels 7. I need to downgrade or have this issue fixed as soon as possible. If it isn't fixed then I am going to just delete this software off of my computer and find a better version that actually works.

    Hello dudeware,

Please shut down the Virtual Machine by clicking on Virtual Machine -> Shutdown

Do not close Parallels Desktop window.

    Go to VM Config ( http://kb.parallels.com/117287 ) -> Hardware -> Video -> 3D acceleration -> Change it to : DirectX 9

Also disable the option : Enable Vertical Synchronization under 3D acceleration

Restart the Virtual Machine and reinstall Parallels Tools once as suggested at : http://kb.parallels.com/4841 and check how it goes!!!

    edit:

Thanks for the reply, unfortunately this has not solved the issue I am having. At first it was slightly working better and wasn't lagging as much but now its just as laggy as before, and it is still freezing my computer to the point where I have to smother the power button till it shuts down. Now I know it is Parallels that's causing this issue because before I updated to Parallels 9 I was on the previous version on a iMac with lower specs and there was no issue. Now I have tried to see if it was an issue with my mac mini causing the issue by trying it out on my iMac and I am able to replicate the issue on both computers with the latest version of parallels install (Parallels 9).

    Computer specs:
Computer: Mac Mini Server Late 2012
Processor: 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7
    Memory: 8GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 4000 1024 MB
    Software: OS X 10.9.2

    Hello dudeware,

Please try the following steps and check if that helps !!

Shut down the Virtual Machine by clicking on Virtual Machine -> Shutdown, do not close Parallels Desktop window

Go to VM Config ( http://kb.parallels.com/117287 ) -> Security ->Integration -> Enable : Isolate Mac from Windows and reboot the VM

Now start the game and check if it is working.

If it works, disable the option : Isolate Mac from Windows option under VM Config -> security -> Integration and reinstall the game once and check.

If it still doesn't work even after enabling Isolate Mac from Windows option, please generate a Problem Report ID as suggested at

http://kb.parallels.com/9058 and reply us back in the forum so that it would be easier for us to investigate on this issue.

I tried that and It won't even go past loading the save file for my game. I just have one question though, in the section where you state " If it works, disable the option : Isolate Mac from Windows option under VM Config -> security -> Integration and reinstall the game once and check." Now was I supposed to delete the game and reinstall it for this test?
