I install a lot of VMs, I've got a dozen right now and that list changes pretty often. I also hate the "Share Windows applications with Mac" option and when I remember I turn it off before creating a new VM, however I forget pretty often and have to deal with the VM coming up with all of the wrong defaults and then having to change them. Is there some way to set the defaults for a new VM to have the options that I want and not have the others? BTW this is using Parallels 9 Thanks - Guy
Hi ggascoigne, It isn't possible to configure a VM with a desired set of defaults. In order to disable "Share Windows applications with Mac" : Go to VM Configure(http://kb.parallels.com/117287) -> Options -> Applications -> uncheck "Share Windows applications with Mac".
Yes, I know how to modify a specific VM configuration, I want to change the default so that when I create a new VM it starts with the options I want without me having to then go and change them.
Create a template. http://download.parallels.com/desktop/v9/ga/docs/en_US/Parallels Desktop User's Guide/32895.htm
Oh, now that's handy, I'd missed that. It's not quite what I want since I'd have to do it for every Windows version, but it's probably close enough to be really useful, thank you.
after 9 years, there's a better solution? In detail, I want all new VM using the "more space" graphics option (it means pixel to pixel...)
