I want to remove the virtual machine from my Macbook Pro because I'm running out of HD space.

Unfortunately I've upgraded to Mavericks and my version (6.0.12106) won't even launch.

It doesn't make sense to buy an upgrade for a program you don't intend to use.

Is there another way to remove the virtual machine and free up HD space?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Unfortunately, you didn't read the body of the message. To follow the instructions you posted one must be able to LAUNCH Parallels. My version won't launch under Mavericks.

Therefore, I still need an answer

    Hello MRShannon,

You may simply remove the entire Virtual Machine by moving the .pvm file to the trash and then you may empty the trash if you don't need them.

By default the Virtual Machine .pvm file is located in:

    Mac HD/Users/Username/Documents/Parallels

    or

    Mac HD/Users/Shared/Parallels

Also please note that once it is completely removed, it will not be possible for you to retrieve the Virtual Machine again.

BINGO! Thanks, this did the trick and I regained the HD space.
