Hi Guys, I have done a bit of searching on this with no luck so I'm hoping this is very simple and someone can point me in the right direction. If its complex.... point me anyway! Im using a piece of software on windows that relies quite heavily on various modifier keys and mouse clicks to work correctly. The main one that I'm stuck on at the moment is 'alt + left click'. Whenever i do this it seems to revert to the normal mac behaviour of dragging the entire window, even in fullscreen mode. I have tried changing the mouse+keyboard settings to the 'game mode' in parallels and some of the alt behaviour i was experiencing was fixed but the mouse behaviour caused more problems and fixed nothing. I have tried both the mac fullscreen and normal fullscreen with hot corners, this didn't help at all and had the same problem. I have also tried creating an additional shortcut in the parallels windows profile to send the 'alt' key but this didn't seem to work either. Any suggestions? Thanks, Paul
What do you want alt + left click to do? And what do you mean it "drags the entire window"? Do you mean it moves the VM when in windowed mode? Steve
Hi Steve, Thanks for the reply. If you try on your own mac now, just hold alt and LMB click and drag on any window, you will see it allows you to drag that window from the point you click it as the anchor, rather than having to worry about grabbing it from the bar at the top of the window. This is the same way it behaves in parallels, dragging the entire VM window. The way i would like it to behave is transparent. I would like alt and click to just be alt and click in windows and disable the mac behavior when in my VM.
I'm on Mavericks and I don't have this behavior. Option + left click doesn't seem to do anything for me on a window other than resizing both sides when I drag an edge. I've also Googled moving windows by holding option/command and I don't see this trick mentioned anywhere. Are you using special software to accomplish this? Steve
D'oh! It was "flexiglass" causing it! What an idiot i am, sorry! You can disable this from flexiglass easily. Thanks for the help
