    Hi,

I just purchased Parallels Desktop 9 for Mac. After downloading the .dmg file and running the installation (not upgrading), Parallels doesn't run. After a loading indicator that runs for a few seconds it generates a prompt that reads the error listed below. When I follow the "solutions" link, I am finding many articles but none that help me understand the error. I had a previous version of Parallels but hadn't used it for a very long time so I removed it manually. It seems there were still some files left behind. During the installation of Parallels 9 it asked me if I wanted to remove the old files, I selected yes.

When I recently ran the old version of the Parallels it had a problem running too listed below. I assumed there was some type of compatibility issue with it with an older version assuming no issues on the Mac side and bought the new version. Perhaps its the similar issue and related to the Mac... Any help is very much appreciated!

    Hi AllyNoor,

Please uninstall the Parallels Desktop 7 completely as suggested at http://kb.parallels.com/112189

After uninstallation of Parallels Desktop 7, run a repair disk permission through disk utility in your Mac.

Now install the Parallels Desktop 9 as suggested at http://kb.parallels.com/116989

    Thanks,
    Manoj.
