Hello, I think I just did a big booboo and am hoping there is a solution. I have a MacBook air on which I had been running Parallels 6 with an XP virtual machine for a long time. I have 2 critical apps that only work on Windows so I had set aside 20GB for this. The system worked just fine so I didn't bother to upgrade either Parallels nor the Windows O/S. Yesterday, without thinking, I went ahead and upgraded to Mavericks. Parallels 6 has now been moved to the "incompatible software" folder and I no longer have access to my virtual machine, the apps nor the data. What are my options at this stage?? If I could I would roll back Mavericks but that is not an option. But is it possible to upgrade from P6 to P9 AFTER the upgrade to Mavericks?? Any help you can provide here would be much welcome. At this stage I would be more than happy to pay whatever upgrade/license fees provided I can get access to my XP virtual machine and, most importantly, my data! Many thanks Frenchy
Hi Frenchy, Yes, upgrading to Parallels Desktop 9 will solve the problem, since it's compatible with Mavericks. From the tech side there shouldn't be any issues, you just need to purchase version 9 at http://www.parallels.com/products/desktop/ (full version, not upgrade - upgrade licenses work for Parallels Desktop 7 and 8 only) and proceed with the upgrade: http://kb.parallels.com/116850 Your virtual machine will be automatically converted to the new version. Thanks, Looran
