Hi. This has been driving me insane, and I cant seem to find an straight answer on this.

I am using a windows keyboard (USB), with a numberpad attached and I would like to have this keyboard functioning as it would within a real standalone windows PC.

The main issue I am having is with the INSERT key. It will not work when I press it and currently the only way I can get it to function is by using my wireless apple keyboard and pressing the FN button on it and then pressing the INSERT key on the windows keyboard.

How can I have it so that I do not need to use the FN key. I want my windows keyboard to function EXACTLY as it would in windows.

    Is this possible?

Thank for any help in advance!

    Hi Simmer,
You can make your Windows keyboard keys work exactly as it should on the Windows side by bypassing your keyboard directly to Parallels Desktop Virtual Machine.
Just click on the Devices menu at the top Mac menu bar (with the VM being active) and check mark your USB keyboard in the list of devices.
The only disadvantage of this approach is that you won’t be able to use this keyboard on the Mac side until you uncheck your keyboard from this list.

The other workaround is to press the Insert key from the Devices menu > Keyboard > Insert.

    Thanks,
    Maheeshwar

Hi. Option 1 sounds like what I am looking for since I have an apple wireless keyboard on my desk as well to use with the apple side.

The problem is that when I select the keyboard from the device list, parallels asks me if I want to dedicate the keyboard to the Windows side, and I select yes. But it is still not working. The INSERT button still does not work and the keyboard is still working on the MAC side after clicking yes.

    Any ideas? Thanks
