Simple Question regarding the RAM memory

    Hello..
    I'm not an expert in Hardware.
    I wonder if someone can help me to collect the information I need.

    I have an Imac I5 with 8GB Ram.
    My Question: I configured parallels to reserve 4GB for the windows VM. Does this mean, the 4GB are allways reserved for the Windows VM , or can I use the complete 8GB Ram for Mac OS when parallels and the VM is switched off?

    The 4GB assigned to the VM are only used (and not available to the rest of the system) when the VM is running, when the VM is switched off you have your 8 GB available.
