Is it possible to get a Windows Guest on a secured WiFi network?

I've been unable to figure it out:

    1. Connect the the Mac to secured Wifi network
    2. Either respond to the Access Point's request for a password OR deal with the browser pop-up that asks for credentials
    3. Good, now Mac is on the network. Spin up the Windows VM
    4. The NIC on the WIndows guest is assigned an IP address from the secured network, and this IP address is (of course) different that what got assigned to the Mac. Good,
    5. However, Windows NIC shows as "Internet Unavailable" and on an "Unknown Network".

I'm seeing this whenever I login to networks like a hotel's "pay to connect" WiFi, airplane "pay to connect" internet service, "Guest Internet Access" at companies I visit, and free airport internet (that forces you to click through a few pages before you get a connection).

When all is said and done, this makes sense to me since the hardware MAC address on the virtual NIC in my Windows guest is different than the MAC on on Mac laptop's wifi adapter.

Is there any way I can get this to work?

The thing that is dumbfounding to me is that I have NO problems getting my Windows VM on my home network (which uses a locked down AP) OR onto my personal mobile hotspot....

So it looks like this may be possible, but somehow depends on a access point / hotspot side setting.

    Any ideas?

Indeed, a particularly strict AP/DHCP set up may forbid VM Bridged mode network access. Try switching to Shared Network in VM Configuration > Hardware > Network.
