Installed and activated Parallels 8 but when opening Windows i get the following message: "Unable to start virtual machine because one or more kernel components are for another version of Parallels Desktop" Suggestion is to restart Mac but that does not work. Reinstalled Parallels 8 and that did not work either. Now back to Parallels 7 in frustration after having paid for P8 and it does not work. Can someone at Parallels please help

I have same problem, but my XP VM ran fine the first time after installing Parallels8 - it then installed the newer Parallel components/drivers in Windows and I was able to use the VM... no worries. But this morning when starting the VM it suddenly cam up with the error message as reported by the opening post. The fix suggested by Parallels support did not work.

Yesterday I have installed on my MacBook Pro (8,2) the new version. After the upgrading it's works fine. Today, Parallels don't start the VM (Error ID 430 and 44). I have tried to reinstall all but don't work!

This fix did not work for my issue

I removed the latest version of Parallels 8. Installed version 7 and then ran the latest version 8 installer one more time, it still comes up with this error.

This issue just started happening to me once I did a v8 update. My virtual machines no longer run and I get this error. I followed the instructions in the KB, reinstalled Parallels 8 and it still doesn't work for me. Has anyone else found a more permanent solution?

    Thanks!
