My Macbook Pro running OS 10.8.5 was asleep. I entered my password to awaken it and the screen showed the Windows XP shutdown screen. I did not request a shutdown but maybe there was a critical update that caused a restart. Anyway, Windows was crashed on the shutdown screen. I went to the Mac side and quit Parallels but when I restarted the VM, Windows XP came back to the crashed shutdown screen. I restared my Mac and I still go back to the Windows XP crashed shutdown screen.

How do I force a shut down of WIndows XP? Or how would I get out of this mess any other way?

    Best,

    Craig
